Wisdom from Ethiopian desert father Abba Moses

on stored anger, and how to live with others

A favorite dessert father for me to learn about is Abba Moses the Strong (c. 330-407 CE).

I researched and wrote about his life, his wisdom, and his legacy in the book I have coming out next year with Broadleaf Books called “The Way of the Desert Elders” that comes out January 27, 2026.

I won’t give too much away, so you have plenty to look forward to, but I want to give you a peek. In the audio I’ll speak a bit about the afflicting thought of stored anger called wrath and share some of Abba Moses’s teachings too.

I hope you let me know what you think. Have a great day. Be encouraged to keep doing good.

In old age, Abba Moses led a community of thousands

The place where Moses lived still reveres him in a special way to this day. In the Scetis desert of the West Nile Delta, now called Wadi El Natrun, near Alexandria, Egypt, it is best known because its ancient monasteries remain in use.
