[SSL 276] Reflections on the "who moved" myth plus two Darkness and Light (Meister Eckhart) poems
Today, I wanted to bust up a (an ontological) theology myth error I’ve heard too much of. It’s a version of this phrase.
⬇️ (Have you heard it?)
"If God seems far away…who moved?”
This phrase pained me with much guilt back in the day. I did feel a loneliness and disconnection sometimes and what this adage told me was that I abandoned God.
Of course we all wander off the path sometimes and go our own way. We sin, make mistakes, and falter…but today the episode goes into the misperception I feel we should never get into that is bound up in this phrase that people pass along to us sometimes. BECAUSE— If it lodges in our mindset, it builds a false obstacle that leaves us feeling alone or abandoned.
I want better for all of us.
